School trip to The Gordon Highlanders Museum

In recognition of the 80 years since the end of WW11, Ballater Community Trust, McCue & Porter and members of The Royal British Legion were able to organize a field trip for our two Primary Schools in Ballater and Crathie to The Gordon Highlanders Museum. To say it was a success is actually understating the outcome as the children returned home enthused by the experience, with parents mentioning that the excitement on return home had them concerned they would not stop talking! We even had one parent explaining that her daughter was so talkative that she asked if her mother could remember the Trenches, not wise words, but the mother was able to tell her that she had been to Flanders and had experienced it, so had the last word! The trip was paid for by McCue & Porter for the tickets, Ballater Community Trust along with a donation from Visit Royal Deeside paid for the travel.
